The Powerchair Playbook: A Guide to Starting or Enhancing Powerchair Sport Programs
The Powerchair Playbook is a new community resource created to support A Blueprint for Building Quality Participation in Sport for Children, Youth, and Adults Participating in Powerchair Sport. The Playbook is designed to help anyone interested in developing or strengthening community-based powerchair sport programs.
Whether you’re a program leader, volunteer, athlete, parent, or supporter, this playbook offers practical guidance and easy-to-use strategies. Inside you’ll find a resource library that introduces the basics of powerchair sport, along with useful strategies for supporting athletes experiencing disability.
The Playbook also includes a tips for creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive sport environments. It highlights key aspects for three exciting powerchair sports: powerhockey, powerchair scocer, and boccia – to help you better understand each game and build meaningful participation opportunities in your community.
